A report by Fortune Business predicts that the market for the Metaverse will grow from a value of USD 100.27 billion in 2022 to USD 1,527.55 billion in 2029. This implies an annual growth rate of 47.6%. According to the report, the growth factors “online shopping” and “gaming” will play a particularly important role.
WorldCup Goals as NFTs by Visa
In the first eight days of November, Visa will auction NFTs depicting historic goals scored by footballers from past World Cups. These goals are presented as abstract works of art and the auction is being held in collaboration with Crypto.com. For instance, one goal is from the 1998 World Cup in France and another is from the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada. The respective winners can also receive a signed soccer ball or jersey.
